In Major Moon, we engage employees through an augmented reality game with the topics of big data, fake news and digitization of workplaces.

Challenge
The pace of change in the workplace is accelerating, and with increased digitization employees face many opportunities as well as challenges. The Chambor of Labor of Upper Austria (AKO) is concerned with a smooth transition that allows both employees and employers to reap the benefits of digital transformation. AKO was interested in a tool that could be used both in workshops, as well as together with workers’ unions, to raise awareness and generate exchange on digitization of workplaces.

Solution

We created a story set around the player living in the first colony on the Moon. As the player’s cousin on Earth, Mia, disappears, he needs to remotely access her computer and put together clues to decipher hints related to her whereabouts. In the course of that, the player needs to confront issues related to conspiracy and big data, digitization in the world of work and fake news. Mia’s privacy, her (digital) wellbeing and the use of deep fakes are problems the user needs to confront while finding out how to restore contact to her, fix family relationships and clear up conspiracies.
